Some GPU (graphical processing unit) specs were leaked today regarding the Wii U. It looks like Nintendo’s next gen console will support Direct X 10.1 with its R770 chipset, the same chipset found in the AMD Radeon 4890. Consequently people were expecting more power from Nintendo’s next gen system but don’t be fooled. Your XBOX 360 is running an ATI X1900 that was ATI’s flagship card 5 years ago in 2006 and was limited to Direct X 9 yet it still pumps out some amazing graphics as it was overclocked. Expect the same type of performance from the R770 chip when the Wii U is released not to mention it is rumored to boast Eyefinity! Don’t know what Eyefinity is? It allows you to stream a picture across multiple monitors, see below!

Yeah, thats pretty cool.
And, for those of you who are still skeptics, Crytek (the makers of Crysis) have their CryEngine ready for the Wii U, it’s been tested and they were pleased with the results. PS: if its good enough for the most advanced gaming engine in the world it’s good enough for you!
