According to two reports published today, Apple will be launching their new iPhone on October 14th in the U.S along with several other countries on the roster.

The news comes from Boy Genius Report in a post where they cite Macotakara’s report which claims that the next iPhone will be launched in selected markets on October 14th.

The October 14th release date seems quite likely to us, especially in the wake of Apple’s official announcement regarding their media event, which will be held on October 4th at their own campus in Cupertino. The event invite image has “Let’s Talk iPhone” written on it which, well, very obviously suggests that we’ll be seeing iPhone-related hardware announcements, reportedly in a keynote from new CEO Tim Cook himself.

Just a note that the first batches of Apple products usually have a flaw or two – iPhone 3: screen dimming, switches (vibrate and volume) and home button broke easily – iPhone 4: antenna issues resulting in in dropped calls. Might be best to wait a month and see what comes out in consumer reports.

According to sources close to (or inside) Apple Tuesday, Oct. 4 is the day Apple is currently expected to hold its next big media event, where the tech giant will unveil the next generation iPhone.

There has been a lot of conflicting rumours and reports about the exact timing of the event, including some that swear up and down it as taking place this month, the announcement will come in October. Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement.

The is mark the first product launch announcement by Apple’s new CEO, Tim Cook’s.

Many SSDs could easily blow away that legacy spinning drive in your notebook, but there’s always room for improvement. Samsung’s 830-series SSD packs 64, 128, 256, and 512GB capacities and full support for SATA’s 6Gbps max throughput which is a 100 percent boost over Samsung’s previous generation drive. Release is coming in October with pricing to follow.

Contrary to some recent rumors, All Things Digital (ATD) reported (quoting sources familiar with the matter – i.e. Apple officials) the next generation iPhone is coming in October, not September.

Apple fans were disappointed when Apple didn’t release any information regarding the iPhone 5 at the yearly Worldwide Developers Conference in June (when new iPhones are usually announced) and most media outlets picked September as the most likely time slot for the launch.

The news that AT&T is halting employee vacations during September added more fuel to the rumor. But now ATD‘s source claims that this is unrelated to the new iPhone and it will actually be out in October.

Nothing has been leaked relating to what the next generation iPhone will look like and the features it’ll have.

Some rumors

  • NFC near field communication
  • Thinner phone design
  • Larger screen
  • Longer battery life

Confirmation on all these rumours won’t be available until October (or September, perhaps) to find out the truth.
