Just how much is social media worth in the world today? $20B in Google’s case! 1 day prior to the Google+ announcement on June 28th Google was trading at $482.80. By the end of the first week in July the stock had risen to $546.60 before closing Friday at 531.99 adding a $20.6B baseline kick to their market cap of $171.43B

Of course there are others factors at play such as AdSense, Google Search and various business services however Google+ was the only service which made headlines. While it’s still in beta testing for the lucky few who have to opportunity to utilize the service in it’s infancy it’s drumming up a lot of attention and a lot of cash for Google.
