Although MuscleNerd said it could be done it can’t. The Jailbreak is tethered but Apple has added a crash loop meaning whenever you try to launch an application it automatically crashes. So until there is a fix for this stay away from the jailbreak. We will be updating everyone once it’s back up!

ios 5

Mert Erdir has discovered how to upgrade to iOS 5 without developer accounts, using a simple backdoor. Everyone can do it following these extremely simple instructions:
The method exploits a security flaw in the activation screen, apparently related to the Voice Over system. Here’s how to do it.

Warning: While this operation should be simple, we are not responsible for what you do to your iPhone. Once completed, you will not be able to connect to a carrier until you have followed the activation instructions. Proceed at your own risk.

The long wait is over, you can now unlock your iPhone 4. Chinese based Gevey has created a SIM that will work for iOS version 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3 with baseband 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10.1 using Gevey’s Sim Interposer.

The method has been available since March however there were many compatibility issues. The new Gevey Pro (default when you order) brings a lot of enhancements to the table.

Gevey Pro

  • More Stable
  • Minor bug Fix
  • Compatible with more sims

Package content:

  • 1x Custom GEVEY Sim Tray
  • 1x GEVEY Pro Sim
  • 1x Instructional Booklet

How it works

You have to insert the “Turbo SIM” in your iPhone 4 and make call on 112, an emergency call number that can be called from any GSM phone, free of charge, with or without a SIM card on any compliant network. Once the call connects, just hang up the call and then toggle Airport mode on and off one to two times. When the network connection resumes you will be unlocked. You will have to repeat the process whenever you restart your phone.

Gevey’s official retailer is applenberry.

Well here we have it, the first facial recognition app for the iPhone 4. I have to say I’ve tried it and I’d rather stick with the lock code method but I’m sure there are many people out there that will just love this application. This is only available on a jailbroken phone, if you are not jailbroken don’t worry!  Jailbreak instructions are at the bottom of this post.

RecognizeMe is the first ever Facial Recognition for iOS. It works with all iOS 4.x+, and sits on the passcode lock screen. RecognizeMe uses the Front Facing camera on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4th Gen (will also work with the iPad 2 whenever a jailbreak is found!) To set up the application for facial recognition you simply train using the included App, making sure to have even light on your face, configure a lockscreen passcode, and you’re good to go! Threshold for verification is adjustable to allow for more or less strict verification, and you can add/remove biometric sets at any time.
