Hitachi just announced via their website that glasses-free 3D could soon see some improvements via Hitachi’s latest 4.5-inch IPS display. With a high resolution of 1280 x 720 and an uncommon lenticular lens approach as opposed to the standard glasses-free 3D parallax barrier method used by Nintendo 3DS and HTC EVO 3D. Hitachi says this new method allows images to be brighter in 3D mode than in 2D mode which in turn increases the 3D effects and resolution.
